IOWA® Yard Hydrant Celebrates 87 Years

This year marks the 87th year of the remarkable run of the IOWA® Yard Hydrant as the first product ever offered by The Woodford Manufacturing Company.  Although Woodford has a long history of selling high quality and innovative outdoor water faucets and yard hydrants, the IOWA® Yard Hydrant is what started it all in 1929 when J.C. Woodford purchased a company and the rights to manufacture it.  The rest is, as they say, history.

Other milestones for Woodford include 1955 when the company began manufacturing commercial wall hydrants as well as 1963 when they began production of their first residential outdoor water faucets.  As of today, Woodford offers a full line of wall faucets, wall hydrants, yard hydrants, faucet repair kits, backflow preventers, vacuum breakers and other related plumbing parts.

Of the several models of IOWA® yard hydrants the model Y34 is the most popular.  Even in sub-zero temperatures there can be immediate water flow.  And there is a rod guide that gets rid of side pull, long-life packing and variable flow that are all standard.  IOWA® hydrants have an extremely long life cycle, but if they ever need repairs, the parts are available all the way back to the 1929 model!  Repairs are made simple from the head of the hydrant without having to remove the hydrant from the ground.

All Woodford products are available online from their official authorized online retailer Eagle Mountain Products.  Eagle Mountain has a customer friendly online experience awaiting anyone that shops there including buyer’s guides, product guides, technical information and an extensive video library of installation demonstration videos.  We invite to visit the website and learn more about the extraordinary IOWA® yard hydrant.

At Eagle Mountain Products, we are proud to be the official online retailer for Woodford Manufacturing Company. Purchase with confidence anyone of our selection of durable, high-quality Woodford outdoor faucets or hydrants.
