Do I Need a Woodford Backflow Preventer?

Have you ever taken your hose off and experienced a spray-back of water? Eagle Mountain Products would like to introduce you to the Woodford Nidel® 50H series vacuum breaker designed to protect from spray-back. It is the first ASSE 1052 approved automatic draining high-flow, double-check backflow preventer.

How does it work? When a hose is removed from a Model 50 equipped wall faucet or yard hydrant, two linked but independent check valves automatically move as one. They open a path through the valve that allows water to drain completely, and thereby, prevent freezing. It will automatically drain when the hose is removed, and unlike single check vacuum breakers, can be field tested for reliability.

The Model 50 can be used to upgrade a Woodford frost free hose bib or yard hydrant (check our website for more info) and comes standard with several models. The 50HA is standard on Models C22, B22, 27 and 30; the 50HF is standard on Model 26, Y2, H34, B26, and Y95. The vacuum breaker is available in your choice of Chrome Plated or Brass.
