The Extremely Durable IOWA® Yard Hydrant

At Eagle Mountain Products, we have a saying that if only we could all look this good after 50 years, which is our affectionate way of saying that Iowa yard hydrants are built to last.  They are the products that started the Woodford Manufacturing Company, and yes, we do know that some of our hydrants are still operating after 50 years.

Woodford got its start in 1929 when J.C. Woodford bought the company and the manufacturing rights for the IOWA® Yard Hydrant to become the Woodford Hydrant Company.  Subsequently the company introduced commercial wall hydrants in 1955 and the first residential faucets in 1963.
Although Woodford has been manufacturing Iowa hydrants since 1929, there have been many improvements made to the hydrant over the years, but the good news is that parts are still interchangeable.

Furthermore as an owner of an IOWA hydrant, you can easily make all repairs from the top of the unit without the added hassle of having to remove the hydrant from the ground.
The Iowa Model Y34 continues to be our most popular yard hydrant and provides an immediate water flow even in sub-zero temperatures.  Features include a variable-flow, long-life packing, a rod guide that eliminates side pull on the rod, and a 3/4" inlet and 1″ galvanized steel pipe.

Our Iowa Model Y1 is also one of our top selling hydrants and it too provides an immediate water flow in sub-zero temperatures.  The Y1 features include a variable-flow plunger; long-life packing, a rod guide that eliminates side pull on the rod, and a 1" inlet and 1 ¼” galvanized steel pipe. For your convenience, keep in mind that Eagle Mountain Products stocks all replacement parts for any obsolete model of yard hydrants and outdoor faucets.

Eagle Mountain Products Company is the only authorized online retailer for the Woodford Manufacturing Company.  We carry the full line of Woodford outdoor watering products that plumbers have used and trusted for years.  Our website provides extensive information and video instructions for repairing or installing our Woodford outside faucets.
